Fulfill your New Year's Resolutions
As the chimes of Big Ben fade, the last firework fizzes away and
you warily eye up the leftovers in the fridge, thoughts turn to the
New Year. New beginnings? An opportunity to do things better?
Be a better person?
I get a feeling that popular choices on the New Year Resolutions'
lists for 2016 will be 'digital detox' and 'mindfulness'. Two
phrases that five years ago we (or shall I say I?) had never heard
of.
So if I was looking for a space in which to ditch the gadgets and
give my family the chance for a digital detox, or find an
environment that helped me to focus on the here & now, where
would I go?
As it turns out…..not very far.
Whilst North Wales is easily accessible, it still has many a
corner where you can forget about the outside world and focus on
the nature, scenery and each other. The perfect place to live
in the moment.
Pantlleni - Snowdonia - Sleeps

Ideally suited to a digital detox - so much so, it may bring on a
bit of cold turkey too. No wifi, or even television. Spend
your days gazing at the mountain views, walking amongst the
spectacular scenery before returning to a crackling fire and
spending evenings like we used to. Scrabble anyone?
Taliesin - Snowdonia - Sleeps

Just imagine - early morning yoga as the sun rises over that view?
How can a vista like this fail to waken even the most
sluggish of souls?
Pentir - Anglesey - Sleeps
4+2
Just arriving at this picture-book cottage will make your heart
sing - a feeling that you are returning to simpler times. Throw
open the windows and look out to sea, step into your boots and
ramble along ancient hedgerows and explore the captivating
coastline.
Saron - Snowdonia - Sleeps

As you head off the beaten track, and wind your way down the
valley you leave the cares and strains of the day to day behind
you. Look out for the now derelict Ynys y Pandy slate mill -
an echo of times gone by in this remote Snowdonian outpost. As you
shut your door for the evening you will feel dwarfed by the
splendour and solitude of the mountains that surround you.
Lon Las - Lleyn Peninsula - Sleeps

I often say that a trip to the Lleyn is good for the soul.
As you head along this beautiful peninsula, you feel the
clock slow. The scenery, shoreline, pace of life and friendly
people all feed that wearied soul. You will come away
invigorated and energised. From Lon Las you can walk to one of my
favourite beaches on the Lleyn - Porth Towyn. Fresh from a
swim across this beautiful bay, sat with towels around our
shoulders and fire embers glowing we spotted a pod of dolphins out
to sea - one of those sublime moments.
