The Pilot House Cafe is perched at Penmon Point, in the southeast corner of
Anglesey. The cafe has a delightful setting, with views of the
Lighthouse and across to Puffin Island. It was originally home to
the lighthouse pilots, and you'll find the whole area of Penmon is
steeped in history. A bird watcher's paradise too; the
Pilot House is the ideal place to take a break from the binoculars.
The beach is a very short walk from the cafe,

and provides a spectacular vista to take in the sea air. Something

£2.50 to spare.

Caffi Porthor
Caffi Porthor can be found, as the name suggests, at Porthor (Porth Oer) on the north side of
the Llyn Peninsula. It is a seasonal cafe perfectly placed to allow
those who take time out here to enjoy the view of the impressive
white sand sweeping round the coastline. It is also conveniently on
the route of a lovely National trust circular trail, so a brilliant
excuse to give those feet a rest! There is something unique about
this beach and the clue is in its name - 'Whistling
Sands'! It comes from the noise that can be heard as you walk
along the dry beach, caused by the oddly shaped sand and the way it
rubs together. It is also a popular beach for water activities and
the cafe provides much needed refreshment.
With such unique attractions and plenty of trails to trek why
not stay in one of our lovely cottages on the the Llyn Peninsula
- Lon Las and Dyffryn cottages sit closest to Porthor,
but with the areas of Pwllheli and Nefyn close by there is plenty of options to
pick the perfect place for you.

is that the cafe only accepts cash. There is plenty to explore close-by; so top up on tea and
cake and enjoy all that the North Anglesey coast has to offer.
