Cooking up a Storm: Unleash your inner-Masterchef

Cooking up a Storm: Unleash your inner-Masterchef

With Masterchef returning to our screens this week for it's 12th season, here are five cottages where you can enjoy a holiday and release your inner-chef. Each of these self-catering cottages has a kitchen so well-equipped and pleasing on the eye, that you will be able to try out your latest Masterchef-inspired creations with ease.

1. Perfect for Patisserie

An expanse of cool granite worktop makes this cottage in Criccieth on the Llyn Peninsula perfect for pastry-lovers.  Paul Hollywood would be very pleased - ooops, wrong programme.

When not rolling out your rough-puff, you can soak up the seaviews from this luxurious retreat….or stroll down to the local bakery, the Idris Cafe on the High Street where you can buy choux buns that you can take home, fill and ice, and claim as your own.

2. Country Kitchen

If you prefer a more rustic, farmhouse approach to your cooking, then the Cath Kidston china, wood-burning stove and scrubbed table top at this country house on Anglesey's east coast will fit the bill.  Expect beautiful soft furnishings throughout, country walks and even your own, virtually private beach - Traeth yr Ora (meaning gold beach).

3. For the sociable chef

Don't want to be holed away in the kitchen and miss out on all the fun?  Not only does this distinctive lake-side house in Snowdonia have a hand-built kitchen, granite worktops, six-burner range cooker with separate spit oven, it also has an enormous island unit - great for chatting whilst chopping, and a dining table sitting in a magnificent rounded window with views across the lake to the mountains beyond.

4. Parties and Pink Neon

Any kitchen that is adorned with neon has to be in the perfect-party pad.  Pop your bottles of fizz in the wine cooler before your guests arrive and enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the garden - the sight of the Snowdonian mountains lit up by the setting sun are always a talking point.

You can either order a home-cooked meal to be delivered to your cottage from our Cottage Food menu or better still, you could book your very own chef who will come to your cottage, prepare & serve your meal and even take care of the washing up.  You may even be able to pick up a few tips along the way…..
