What can I say, an incredible villa in a beautiful part of
Italy. Our stay was truly phenomenal, the surroundings of the villa
are serene & the villa itself provides everything needed. Make
sure to go exploring the multiple waterfalls on the property
(safely) & visit some of the local restaurants/attractions. The
restaurant in Vallico Sopra (open Saturday & Sunday only) is
well worth a visit if only for the incredible value for money &
hospitality. It's a locals place, with great pastas & meat
courses - although the pizza was distinctly average. The house Red
wine was cheap & washed the food down expertly! It's an easy
walk, so everyone can enjoy. The little "DeSpar" shop/deli in
Fabbriche di Vergemoli was our absolute favourite & avoids
having to go all the way into the valley for food/drink. The €3
locally produced wine, washed down the freshly sliced hams &
cheeses formed the majority of our meals - the owner speaks
phenomenally good English & has a handsome dog called "King"
that is often hanging around the town. We loved our stay, be aware
the property is vast & finding it in the dark - even with the
very clear directions - requires some bravery! We can't wait to
return.

Great location and great property with amazing view and
atmosphere. Went there for a trip with the extended family and
having different buildings in the same property was a great add-on.
Highly recommended.

Lovely property. Deep in the mountains of Tuscany. No air con
needed as very cool in the house. Houses great really big and
completely private. All the sounds you hear is running water and
the birds. As we had been travelling from early morning it would
have been nice if there had been a welcome pack with a few
essentials as we were all so tired and the nearest supermarket was
20minutes away. Gabrielle who showed us round the property gave us
some home made wine which was very kind and delicious. Also a
manual in the house would have been helpful too. Overall we had a
lovely time exploring the area and coming across some wildlife such
as a porcupine at night alongside lots of fire flies and enjoyed
our evening outside although it does get quite cool so do remember
to bring a jacket.

We had a pleasant stay in this old mountain house. It has a nice
garden and pool that allows you to spend your day there. Trips to
Lucca, Pisa or hikes up the mountains are nice options for
daytrips. The next supermarkets are 25 minutes away since you need
to drive down the mountain road so we tried to combine grocery
shopping with our trips Since we were the first guests of the
season there were some spiders in the house and in the kitchen and
the dishwasher wasn't working but the owner was very responsive and
sent a cleaning team and a technician to solve the issues. We can
recommend the house for groups of friends who want to stay outside
of a city.

The stay was very relaxing, a bit isolated but very idyllic. You
can recommend the property without hesitation.

Great stay, good communication and fantastic property.

We stayed in Borgo Mulino with 8 adults and 1 child aged almost
2 years in the first week of August. The house, the two smaller
houses and the garden were perfectly clean. The house is very
beautiful and fully equipped. The only downside is the many stairs.
But that's just sport ;). The swimming pool is very large and well
maintained. The domain is enormous. It was a wonderful, peaceful
holiday in the middle of the mountains. Wonderful, pleasant
temperatures at an altitude of almost 1000 m. In Florence, for
example, it was 10 degrees warmer. 24 - 34

We were with 2 families (4 adults and 3 kids) and were surprised
of how large the total accommodation was and also the fact that it
is really remote. The quietness is breathtaking. And there are so
many different spots where you can sit down and relax. A special
thanks to our caretaker Giuliano. He was our go to guy when we
needed anything!

We had a fantastic week 28 in Borgo I Mulinetti, deep in Monte Apuane 1 hour drive northwest of Lucca. 14 people in 4 families had plenty of space in 3 separate houses around a common, nicely sized swimming pool. Good outside space, where we could eat all meals together under the parasols, but also with space for the individual family at each house, each of which had fine kitchen facilities. Very nicely restored and maintained former water mill, still with the small river gurgling down the area. No immediate neighbors in the area, which is very quiet. You have to think about which raw materials you need every day, as there is a long way to major shopping opportunities after a long trip down the mountains in many hairpin turns. Magnificent nature with plenty of opportunities for exercise for the whole family, but also as a base for excursions in beautiful Tuscany. Highly recommended for larger families
Arrival 9th July 2022
The house is slightly elevated (about 340 m) and idyllically surrounded by forest. If you are looking for peace and seclusion, this is the place for you. The holiday home has been lovingly renovated to a high standard and offers plenty of space for a large family. The huge swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers is ideal for relaxing. Due to the difficult (very winding) and sometimes bad driving conditions (especially the last 100 meters), the location is not so well suited for enterprising families. In any case, we recommend a bulk purchase in a larger supermarket before you arrive. A small on-site supermarket carries only the essentials. The hosts are very attentive and accommodating. You feel excellently looked after.
