Beauty, Comfort, Great Hosts!

It was our first trip to Italy, and this was the perfect family dwelling. The pictures don't begin to capture the breathtaking Dolomites or the outstanding accommodations! The kitchen is a gem! So convenient and easy to cook. We had a chef come in to fix dinner on our last day, and he loved the kitchen, too. We took walks/hikes on the surrounding trails, and relaxed by the gorgeous pool which, by the way, has beautiful night lighting!! The owner fixed pizza in the outdoor pizza oven one evening, and it was a highlight of our trip with fresh, delicious ingredients and gracious conversation...and fabulous wines. We did not mind the narrow and winding roads on the days we drove to Lucca (90 minutes) or Florence (2.5 hours), but be aware of the challenging driving that we saw as a Tuscan adventure rather than a negative. It's the perfect get-away!

We greatly enjoyed our time

We greatly enjoyed our time at this house close to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana The view from the house and the pool is absolutely amazing. The house is spacious and beautifully remodeled. It is well equipped and had everything we needed. We went for day trips to Lucca, Pisa and Isola Santa Lake. Returning back to the house in the afternoon to relax at the pool and enjoying the view felt like special treat. Hope we can return one day.

Very relaxing

Very relaxing holiday resort, super beautiful. We drove home relaxed after 1 week. Thank you very much for everything and the vegetables were very tasty.

Beautiful house but above all, beautiful surroundings with idyllic views

Have a nice holiday with the family in this beautiful spot. The landlords brought us wine and a box full of organic vegetables, which we prepared nicely. The living room is not very large, but the house is very clean and practical. Our son and his girlfriend enjoyed the separate studio and had complete privacy. However, a second key might be useful if not everyone makes the same trips. so everyone can enter the house. The distance to a village for restaurants and/or shopping is a mountain drive of about half an hour. But the peace you get for this is worth the ride. we did several excursions and enjoyed our holiday in the mountains.

Amazing!

Our second time here and it didnt disappoint. Wonderfull views and a well-equipped and omfortable house made for a fabulous holiday.

Beauty and tranquility in the mountains

Great getaway on a mountain
Metello is a very relaxing property with a great pool. The house and annexe are relaxing and homely. Outside bbq and pizza oven are amazing and the views are beautiful.

Wonderful break in northern Tuscany
The beautiful pool photo in the advertisement caught our attention and we rented the holiday home for our family vacation with our dog. The reality is even more beautiful than in the pictures. We had an all-round great holiday in the well-kept house. Our older son benefited from the self contained apartment, our dog loved the large fenced property, all family members 9-55 enjoyed the pool. While it was sometimes very hot in Lucca or Pisa at the end of July, it was bearable at high altitude. Not even mosquitoes disturbed at night. Communication with the agency was uncomplicated at all times, but with the owner himself Italian was required, although his children speak English. A great gesture was the welcome wine and rich vegetable boxes that were brought to us twice. The only downside/or benefit is the seclusion. To go shopping, you first have to negotiate a lot of curves downhill and then uphill again. But we knew that and would book the house again at any time.

Beautiful house in the mountains
The house is beautifully decorated and everything is available. It is located in the mountains, a 20 minute drive up. The pool is fantastic and so is the view.

Paradise
My family and I stayed at this property for a week in June, and and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The photographs don't do it justice, seeing is believing. The peace, tranquility and privacy are superb , the drive up the road is well worth it believe me! Castelnouvo is a small pleasant town with plenty of little shops and a weekly market, the locals are very friendly. I'd like to thank the owners for the lovely bottles of wine, while not pretending to be an expert I can safely say they were delicious!! Grazie!! The house itself is excellent and everything is to a high standard, cool enough at night to sleep comfortably. We will return here again hopefully. Arriverderci!

Gorgeous property

The house, the setting, the pool and ultimately the views are just amazing. Be prepared for an adventure getting there as it's relatively remote and you take narrow mountain roads, but then you are rewarded with a property that is Instagram-perfect. The house is gut-renovated yet totally charming. And the mountain air and silence was amazing - incredible deep sleeps. One of my favourite memories of our trip to Italy was an early morning yoga practice by that pool, with the sun rising and those views…. We would return for sure.

What a wonderful, peaceful and beautiful place. We enjoyed fully the holiday at Castelnuovo and would love to return one day. The house is really nice, well restored and cosy. The pool with the view is spectacular.

Gem in the mountains

An up-to-date, secluded farmhouse in the mountains above Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, this property delivers everything you see in the online pictures and more. Breathtaking views, ample space for a large family or multiple families, an infinity pool with one of the best views in Tuscany. Was also great for our German Shepherd with lots of space to run and play ball. Be prepared to have to drive a windy road for 20 minutes each way for food and shopping, but it is worth the privacy, views, and cool evenings after a hot summer day. The owners were very attentive to our queries and needs. Lucca is only an hour away for history and culture, and Forte di Marmi is about 90 minutes for great beaches.
