Tenuta la Quercia is a lovely private 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom detached property situated in the depths of the italian countryside, complete with its own private pool and mountain as well as woodland views. Despite the rural location, the house is situated just 650m from an ancient traditional Italian mountain village which has a bar and shop, which is ideal for essentials and sitting with a drink taking in local life.
This spacious property has been recently renovated and has a well equipped brand new kitchen, leading to a living/diner, a shower room and three good sized bedrooms (two doubles and one twin).
The large garden surrounded by open land, trees and mountains
boasts a brand new private pool finished with a lovely stone
sunbathing area. It is fully fenced so suitable for dogs. There is
an al fresco dining area with a barbeque too. At the front (and
totally private) is a swing chair for chilling with a book and a
glass of wine away from the rest of your party.
Heating is included in the price during early spring/late
autumn.

A little about the area
Tenuta la Quercia is situated just 650 m from an ancient traditional Italian mountain village which has a bar and shop, which is ideal for essentials and sitting with a drink taking in local life. They will also cook for you at the bar with notice, which is a nice idea for lunch when you are having days at home.
The property is also less than 5 minute drive (over the river!)
from the larger village of Piazza al Serchio with all facilities
including traditional shops, supermarket and Tuesday morning
market when the small village really comes alive. There are
also some bars, a couple of restaurants a river and a train station
for easy exploring.
Whilst in the depths of the countryside, the house is well located
for exploring the local market town of Catselnuovo which is a 20
minute drive, the gorgeous and popular mediaeval town of Barga
which is a 35 minute drive and the stunning walled mediaeval city
of Lucca which is say 1 hour and 10 minutes away. Pisa, with its
leaning tower is a 90 minute drive, and one can visit Florence in 2
hours. The famous Wind Caves are a 45 minute drive.
Closer to home there are plenty of little historic villages to visit, many of which have local festas in the summer. There are also the lakes of Gramalazzo, Vagli (with its hidden village submerged by the water) and Pontecosi, and some guests love to swim in the river. Francesca is also ideally located for visiting the local Fortress at Verrucole which is a good afternoon out, with stunning views and some interactive activities for the children. Also close by is the Buffardello tree climbing and zip wire park (ideal for both adults and children of all ages with a variety of runs) where one can take a picnic and spend the entire day in the welcome shade of the forest.
The real beauty of this area is the dramatic mountain scenery, and the hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, endless picnicking opportunities, and the pure peace of a non touristy holiday ......

This is an excellent holiday property. You climb up to it via
hairpin bends so take your time and just let the locals pass you in
thier Fiat Pandas. The house is a few hunded metres out of village
and such a tranquil spot. I almost dont want to give a god review
to stop this place becoming to booked up for my next visit but that
would be selfish. On the first morning when you throw open the
french doors and sit and take in the views you will know you made
the right choice. The hosts pop along each morning and clean the
pool for you. We used to sunbathe in or by the pool until
afterlunch then go and exploreintbe afternoon. We went through the
mountains to the coast and beach watching the sun go down whilst
standing on the pier. Then drove to lucca for supper. One afternoon
we visited pisa and paid for parking near to the tower. One
afternoon we did bagni de lucca and barga We also watched the sun
go down and casting wonderful sun light over the mountain and trees
at lake gramalazzo before eating in a taverna. We walked up to the
fortess and then recovered whilst drinking lovelly cold drinks and
trying to work out how some one drove thier Fiat panda up a parked
outside the gates. In summary as long as you are confident driving
on the wrong side of the road dont hesitate and book this house
you.

The house and garden are very good, clean and well maintained. We
would recommend this place.

We felt very comfortable in the house of Marinella and her
family. They are friendly landlords who are available at any time
if you have a request. We can also recommend the delicious red wine
produced by the landlord. The house is cosily furnished and the
large property with pool is ideal for relaxing, especially as the
forest is right next door. As the house is on the outskirts, you
need a car. But that shouldn't stop anyone from spending a holiday
in this wonderful and less touristy place. We can only recommend
the house of Marinella and her family. We had an absolutely
relaxing and restful holiday. Many thanks for everything!

Very good communication from the owners before and throughout
our stay. The property is very well equipped and we really enjoyed
the pool area and garden. This is a more rural part of Tuscany, but
Lucca, Pisa and Florence etc can be reached by car, or car and
train. A lovely place to stay.

Our first time in Tuscany as a family trip. What stays with us
is the warm welcome from the family . The freedom of this house is
enormous, wonderfully free from everything. For the bbq
enthusiasts, a beautiful wood BBQ and wood fire pit. Beautiful
route for walking, lovely swimming pool. House equipped with all
conveniences. The family came every day to clean everything outside
and inside upon request without disturbing us. Also received a warm
welcome at the local terrace in the village, i learned a lot of the
village history. Absolutely recommended for everyone.

We stayed in this beautiful property with our 2 dogs. The whole
house is very well maintained and really extremely clean, we really
appreciated that! The garden is large, with fresh flowers, and a
very well-kept, large pool that is cleaned every morning. We
received a very warm welcome. This place exudes great peace and
quiet, with a great view of the mountains. The garden is really as
big as in the pictures and is completely fenced in except for two
entrances to the house. We can highly recommend this house! Thank
you for the loving hospitality and the fine wine.

The house is very clean and there is everything you need inside.
The pool is also very nice as it cleaned by the owners every day.
There is also a big garden with different places to relax. The
owners are really nice and gave us a warm welcome, little
attentions and came to say goodbye. We recommend the house
unreservedly. Thank you for everything!

We had a fantastic week! The house offers everything you need to
relax: you feel at home in a family home. There are no
superfluities which is very relaxing. What to say about the owners:
they are absolutely perfect when you are on holiday abroad,

Beautiful house with a delicious pool in an incredibly beautiful area, with beautiful nature and cozy villages. Everything you need is in the house. Very friendly host couple who clean the pool every day, and possibly Things to fix. Definitely a place we will visit again. Arrival 8 July 23
We were warmly welcomed by the host family at the holiday home
and said goodbye again. Marienella and her children prepared
everything very lovingly. The house is simply furnished, but
everything you need is there. The kitchen is new. Our bed was very
comfortable and the view of the mountains from there was so
beautiful. We have rarely found a holiday home so clean. The garden
was a dream for us and our four-legged friend. There were various
seating and places to linger. The garden, as you can see from the
pictures, is really that huge. When the weather is nice, you can
relax by the great pool. This was cleaned every morning. The next
village is within walking distance. There is a small bistro there,
which is run by Maria. The food there is simply delicious and
definitely recommended. For shopping you have to go to the next
town, about 10 minutes by car. The family was always available and
helped. A small note that you should know... Maria wasn't open
every day when we were on vacation and only from 8:00 p.m. The huge
garden is fenced in with a high fence to prevent escape. However,
two entrances to the house are free, so four-legged friends could
escape. A car is mandatory. We would recommend the cottage
100%.

The holiday house is very nice, with a very good pool. Both a
well cleaned. Very nice garden, beautiful surroundings and nature.
The owners are very sweet, a good reception on arrival. They also
take care of the daily maintenance of the pool, without violating
your privacy.

Beautiful garden including pool, absolut silence, incredible view from the balcony, everything clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful owners, equipment clomplete and in good working order……. Perfect holidays!
We loved our stay at the house. It was extremely clean and the
lovely owners put a lot of thought in every detail. The kitchen is
very well equipped and there is even an outside fire place and BBQ.
You can walk 10 minutes to a small coffee shop/bar with cold snacks
and a kiosk included for basic needs. A bigger grocery store,
Camporgiano Train Station, and some restaurants are a 10 minute
drive by car. The communication with the owners was really good and
super kind. We would love to come back again and thank you for the
wine!
