A very tastefully furnished house - very clean and well equipped. Nice seating everywhere outside. You can always find the right spot for shade or sun. The view of the mountains is breathtaking! The pool is small, but for us it was perfectly adequate. There were only 4 chairs inside, so we had to get 2 armchairs from the living room on a rainy day. This could be improved. Very nice welcome with a fruit basket and gin and tonic and nibbles. We didn't see the owner, but that wasn't a problem. Questions were answered immediately by the agency. Getting to the house is actually difficult, but doable (even with an Audi A6...). The only problem is that you could sit up. That was millimetre work. But the village square is very close and you don't have to drive up. The small shop has bread and a few basic foodstuffs, but no fruit and vegetables and also somewhat opaque opening hours. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for those seeking peace and quiet. We went on great hikes and visited the nearby lakes. We also visited Lucca.

We spent a week with the family in mid June and the villa exceeded our expectations. The property is fully fenced and offers privacy and fantastic mountain views whichever direction you look. The villa is located in a small mountain village (but easily accessible with a big family car) and we loved the tranquility it offered. Watching the stars or mountains and listening to distant wild animal noises was fantastic! There property itself is pretty basic, but very spacious, clean and gives an authentic feeling. The kitchen is well equipped and cooking was a pleasure! There is no air conditioning, but the house didn't get too hot due to fresh nights. We used to open windows in the evening to let some fresh air in. The only thing I missed was mosquito nets on the windows, but still this was not a big issue. The pool is not big, but the kids loved it and spent lots of time, regardless the fact the water was not very warm (I would say something around 22 °C). The hostess was very discreet and we loved it. She used to come to water flowers early in the morning, but we actually never saw her:) I definitely recommend villa Valentina for any nature lover seeking to combine total relax with some hiking activities!

We just got back from our trip to this beautiful home. First off, it was just like the pictures. The house looks really great and the amenities are perfectly suited for a (larger) family. With 4 bedrooms (with double or two single beds) and three bathrooms, there is plenty of space to go around. The kitchen is adequate and fully loaded with all the utensils you need. The pool outside was on the small side, but it was big enough for our three youngest to spend most of the time in when we were at the home. Around the house there are plenty of sitting areas. Our favorite one was the one next to the pool overlooking hills and villages, in the morning, between 9 and 10 AM, with a good cup of coffee. The peace and quiet are just amazing. That's also the only downpart. Although there are things to do in the vincinity (please go to Lago di Gramolazzo, about a 20 minute drive by car, beautiful emerald green lake to go swimming), if you want to see some sights, you need to drive a bit (just under two hours for Pisa (must see), just over one hour for Lucca (nice town square) and over two hours to go to Florence (beautiful!)). Grocery shopping is doable at a small shop about 10 minutes out (just opposite of Davy's Bar & Restaurant, great food, reasonable prices!), but it's better to go to a superstore at about half an hour drive. The prices are better and you have more choice. PS: The wifi isn't that good, be sure to have a good data plan :) All in all, we loved it!

Wonderfully spacious and well appointed house in a beautiful village location. The village bar/store was a gem and a life saver at times for stocking up on food. Lovely well-tended garden and pool and plenty of garden furniture. A very relaxing week.

We had a great week in the spacious and well-kept house. There are several seating areas in the beautiful garden with a small, clean pool and a gigantic view. Uncomplicated and friendly contact with Valentina, a new coffee machine was brought immediately. The driveway to the property is actually a bit difficult with a larger vehicle, we were glad that we came with Polo. In the village there is a small bar with a small shop, otherwise the house is in a quiet and secluded village up in the mountains. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the property.

Beautiful house, well maintained and beautiful location. Splendid vistas. Also very amiable neighbors. Small minus: already mentioned by previous tenants; The last piece of road (+/- 50 meters) to the house is difficult for larger cars. After unloading, it is recommended to park at the local cafe (at Maria). Definitely recommended for those looking for peace and quiet and want to spend a nice holiday with children and / or grandchildren. Owner was always ready when a problem (little) occurred.

The house and the area are wonderfully nice. Nice to get to an area where there is not full of tourists. The house is located in a beautiful place with a wonderful view of the mountains. We stayed for 10 days and really enjoyed it so much that it felt sad for us to go home. We have been to many places in Italy and this is the least touristy we have visited. The house is also very nice and clean. Nice spacious bedrooms and 2 good bathrooms. Nice garden with a terrace where we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. We would love to return to this area.

Lovely views and plenty of space inside and out. Rather out of the way and so atrial in daytime is advised.
